The AS 2550 series of Australian Standards is maintained by Standards Australia committee ME-005 Cranes and its subcommittees. An active project to revise AS 2550.15:1994 Cranes—Safe use, Part 15: Concrete placing equipment has recently been cancelled because, despite several attempts to resolve concerns raised by various stakeholders, agreement on the content of the revised document could not be reached.

Part of the proposed solution is to form a new technical committee constituted with appropriate industry representation that will focus on Australian Standards for concrete placing equipment.
The forum will include a presentation by the Concrete Pumping Association of Australia. There will be an open forum to enable other stakeholders to raise issues for discussion, and an opportunity to clarify the scope of the revised standard. The Association will be represented by Craig Heidrich, CEO and Anthony Mattar (Elected Representative to ME005 and ME005-15 at the meeting on Tuesday 4 August 2015.
