Panorama Tower, which is being constructed on the site of a former parking garage in Miami, Florida, has broken records in the laying of its foundations.

The 252 metre tower is set to be the tallest skyscarper on the East Coast of USA located outside NYC. The project is due for completion in 2017. The buildings foundation was completed with a huge concrete pumping operation which lasted 23 hours, utilised more than 170 trucks and used more than 11,200 cubic metres of ready-mix concrete. This feat awarded the pour the title of largest foundation concrete pour in the history of America.

Florida East Coast Realty reported that construction crews have placed over 93,000 square metres in eight months, putting Panorama’s construction phase on track for completion in late 2017.

Tibor Hollo, chairman and president of FECR, said in a press release "(The tower) will encompass more than 100,000 square feet of medically oriented office space atop a 2,000-spot parking garage, plus 50,000 square feet of ground-floor and second-level retail stores and restaurant space. A 208-room hotel is also planned next to the garage." Read more here.
