To kick start 2019, the Concrete Institute of Australia are holding an informal night of light food, drinks and networking.
The function will provide the perfect opportunity to discuss the technicalities of durability and legal risk aspects surrounding the failure to correctly specify exposure (one of the most common durability design faults).
Speakers
Dr Daksh Baweja
Director, BG&E Materials Technology
Daksh was the lead author on the recently released CIA Recommended Practice, Z7/02 "Exposure Classifications". He will speak about how this document will make the specification of exposure class for concrete a brand new experience providing greater clarity, more cohesion, and confidence for those high risk areas.
Michelle Knight
Senior Associate, Minter Ellison
Michelle is a leading practitioner in the legal world with respect to concrete related issues. She will speak in conjunction with Daksh about the risk areas that should be considered in design and application of concrete structures and how Z7/02 can be used to help reduce this.
