The Concrete Pumping Association of Australia (CPAA) has been working with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) and Transport for NSW (RMS) to deliver an updated NSW Class 1 Special Purpose Vehicle and Combination Operators Guide.
Working with Members in NSW, the CPAA advocated for the removal of certain travel time restrictions within the conditions of operation for truck based SPVs of 2.5 metres or less. Special thanks to John Muldoon (Schwing Australia) and Greg Torzillo (Flowcrete) for their input.
John and Greg said "this is a sensible outcome as Concrete Pumping Vehicles will now be able to operate during clearway and transit lane times as well as peak hour times for truck based SPVs". Adding "This small but important change that will increase productivity, allowing operators greater flexibility in their fleet and certainty around access in NSW".
Craig Heidrich, CEO of the Concrete Pumping Association of Australia said "These changes are great news for operators of Concrete Pumps who will have a number of travel time restrictions removed". "This is just one example of the benefits the CPAA brings to the industry"
